An ice wave flowing from Millie Lacs Lake in Minnesota has been captured on amateur video, showing an expanding wave of frozen water engulfing gardens and threatening people's homes.
The video was filmed by Darla Johnson on Saturday morning and shows the wave of ice visibily advancing on her house near Millie Lacs Lake in the northern state of Minnesota.
The peculiar phenomenon is caused by high winds pushing ice off the surface of a lake.
Over the weekend, a 29ft wall of ice from a lake just over the border in Canada destroyed at least 12 homes and damaged many others.
